Second Annual Ellington Scarecrow Contest to be Held This Saturday

The event will be happening Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Heading to the Farmers' Market in Ellington this Saturday? Don't forget to bring your scarecrow!

The Second Annual Ellington Scarecrow Contest will be held this Saturday, Sept. 28, starting at 9 a.m. and running until noon. It's happening at the big gazebo during the farmers' market, at Arbor Park on Main Street.


Customers will vote throughout the morning with the winners being announced at 11:45 a.m.  Prizes will be awarded for 1st 2nd and 3rd place winners (the prizes are gift certificates to the market).

The Ellington Farmers' Market will continue to run regularly on Saturdays through Oct 19, from 9 a.m .to noon. Each week we have a theme and musical entertainment.

Also, don't forget the winter markets, which will begin Nov. 8 and will be running almost every other Friday 4-6 p.m. at the YMCA on Pinney Street.
