Amy Margelony, Neighbor

Amy Margelony, Founder of School Advocates Today, is an <strong>educational advocate</strong> who assists families in securing educational rights for their children.

Amy has been in the field of education for over 10 years.  After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Social work, Amy went on to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a school teacher and earned a <strong>Master’s degree in Elementary Education</strong> from the University of Hartford.

After several years in the classroom, Ms. Margelony continued her education and received her <strong>6th year degree in Educational Administration</strong> from the University of Connecticut.  Serving as an administrator in a public school  for several years exposed Amy to many PPT, 504 and EIP meetings.  She has vast experience in writing IEP goals as well as ensuring the needs of individual students are being met.

Currently, Amy works aggressively with many parents throughout the state of Connecticut to empower parents with the information and tools needed to have productive and positive relationships with their child’s school.
