The Push, Pedal, Pull Patriotic Parade Now in its 11th Year

It's all part of the July in the Sky Celebration in Vernon.

It's one of the true highlights of the annual July in the Sky Celebration.

It's the Push, Pedal, Pull Patriotic Parade, sponsored by the Rockville Community Alliance, now in its 11th year.

Basically:

The parade is scheduled to begin forming at 7 p.m. in the parking lot of the 20 East Main St. shopping plaza in Downtown Rockville.

The entries will be judged at 7:15 p.m. All entires must have red, white and blue decorations or its participants patriotic-themed outfits to be eligible.

The parade is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.

No pre-registration is required and the categories include under-5, ages 6 through 8, ages 9 through 12, ages 13-to-adult, families and a business or civic group. Bikes, scooters, skateboards, etc. will only be allowed at the event during the parade.

The Downtown Rockville portion of July in the Sky is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. with games, live music, food, demonstrations and rides.

The event is sponsored by the RCA and the Vernon Parks and Recreation Department.
