Somers Baseball Shuts Down Suffield

The Spartans remain perfect on the season.

The Somers High School baseball team defeated host Suffield 5-1.

Mike Casciano went 2-for-4 on the day with a double, a RBI, and a run scored for Somers. Brian Hollister was 1-for-3 with a double, two RBI, a walk, and two runs scored. 

Adam Donovan led the way for the Spartans on the mound, going five innings and allowing one hit and four walks. He also struck out four. 

Donovan was relaxed and in control from the start and gave up his one hit to Robbie Hitt in the first inning of the game.

Ryan Connor pitched two innings and struck out three.

Tom Conlon did the catching for Somers.

Brian Clark had a walk and a RBI double for Suffield. Hitt and Nolan McCoy had the only other Wildcat hits.

Kyle Eheander pitched a complete game, allowing three walks. He struck out five.

Nick Mangianeli and Matt Clark caught for the Wildcats.

Somers (3-0, 2-0) hosts Granby on Thursday. Suffield (1-2, 1-2) travels to Enfield on Wednesday.
