Winner, Winner Turkey Dinner

Windermere School students, parents, and teachers gathered to play some bingo on Wednesday.

On Wednesday evening, hundreds of students, their parents, and teachers gathered to play some bingo.

"Gobble, gobble bingo," sponsored by the Windermere Parent Teacher Organization, drew about 200 people in the early session and about 100 in the second; everyone hoping to take home the coveted prize of a turkey and a pie.

Noele Kidney, co-chair of the bingo event, said that every winner would receive a turkey and a pie and that if there were any leftovers, they would be donated to the Ellington food pantry.

In addition, attendees brought non-perishable food items to be donated to the pantry. Kidney said that the food will be brought to the pantry on Friday.

She said that the school has done other bingo events in the past, but decided to change it up a bit this time by holding it in the fall and making it a food drive.

During the event, the participants played all different kinds of bingo, such as four corners, capital T, lowercase t, X, and regular.
