Somers Puts Away East Windsor

The Spartans jumped out to an early lead and never looked back.

The girls' basketball team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in a 63-49 victory over visiting East Windsor on Tuesday.

The Spartans took an early 11-0 lead and led the whole game. East Windsor cut the lead to seven at the half, but Haliee Stetson's 12 second half points led the way for Somers.

Stetson had a career high 19 career points - including 12 off three-pointers. Diandra DaRosa led all scorers with 21 points in the win.

Madison Carolus led East Windsor with 15 points. Allison Rodrigue and Maria Pantoja each had 10 for the Panthers.

Somers (7-10) hosts Amistad Academy on Wednesday. East Windsor (7-9) hosts Windsor Locks on Friday.
