Somers Outlasts Canton

It took 10 innings, but the Somers baseball team defeated Canton on Thursday.

It took three extra innings, but the baseball team finally defeated Canton 7-6 on Thursday in Canton.

Jake Scheuer picked up the win for Somers, going three innings while not allowing a run. He allowed one hit and struck out three.

Pat Sullivan took the loss for Canton, going the distance while allowing seven runs. He gave up 14 hits, no walks, and struck out five.

Starter Nate Czelazewicz went seven innings for Somers. He gave up four earned runs, nine hits, and four walks. He struck out eight.

Adam Guerrette led Somers at the plate, going 4-for-5, including the game winning RBI single in the 10th inning.

Jake Alvaro was 3-for-5 and scored the winning run in the 10th after he tripled with one out.

Mike Casciano had two hits and two RBI and Kevin Roberts had two hits and one RBI. 

Somers improves to 9-7 on the season while Canton falls to 3-10.

Somers hosts SMSA on Friday.
