No February Vacation in Somers
The Board of Education decided to eliminate the vacation due to lost school days.
At the meeting on Monday, the board voted to eliminate February vacation because of the loss of several school days this year.
Somers lost a full week of school due to the October snowstorm.
As a result, school will be in session on Feb. 21, 22, 23, and 24. Schools will be closed on President's Day, Feb. 20, to celebrate the holiday.

"This early notice should help to resolve any conflicts later in the year," Superintendent of Schools Maynard Suffredini said.
