How to Pay for College

In this "How to Pay for College" Program, topics of discussion will include:

•Overview of college costs and inflation rates for education •Understanding the two ways to apply for financial aid (the FAFSA and the College Board Profile) and how they differ •How to calculate one’s expected family contribution •Factors considered by schools in determining financial need •Assessable and non-assessable assets •The percentages of assets and income expected to be paid by parents and children •Alternative options for loans and tuition payment •Types of financial aid, scholarships, loans, and grants available to students, and those that have been discontinued •What happens to expected family payments in the case of divorce •Best practice solutions and time frames for completing this process.

The event will take place in the McKnight Community Room of the library.
