Avon Too Much for Somers Girls Lacrosse

The Falcons defeated the visiting Spartans 18-8 on Wednesday.

The Somers High School girls lacrosse team couldn't hold off host Avon as the Falcons won 18-8 on Wednesday.

Karen Trescott and Marissa Fragomeni each had three goals for Somers. Karisa Welch added a goal and an assist for the Spartans.

Elizabeth Poitras had a goal, Katie Morrell had two assists, and Kristen Steidler added an assist in the loss.

Halle Donaldson led Avon with five goals and Britt Douglass had three for the Falcons.

Melissa Perry made 22 saves for Somers (3-10). Olivia Hammick made 11 saves for Avon (7-7).

Somers hosts Woodstock on Friday.
