Time to Renew Dog Licenses in Ellington, Somers

Connecticut residents must license their dogs in June.

June is dog licensing month throughout Connecticut.

Residents must obtain or renew dog licenses for pups six months and older by mail or by visiting the Town Clerk's Office June 1-30.

In Ellington and Somers, the licensing fee for dogs that have been spayed or neutered is $8 and $19 for an unneutered or unspayed dog.

To obtain a new license, residents must present a certificate from a veterinarian indicating whether the dog has been spayed or neutered and vaccinated against rabies.

Dog owners with canines not registered by July 1 will pay a late fee of $1 per month per dog.
