Troop C Police Blotter — Arrests Ending Oct. 23, 2013

The latest arrest roundup for Ellington, Somers and the surrounding area.

Arrest information is furnished by the State Police Troop C barracks and does not indicate a conviction. 

Ellington

Oct. 18


Jozsef Vitalis, 42, 118 Stepp Road, South Windsor, was charged with operating under the influence and a failure to drive right after police pulled him over on Frog Hollow Road in Ellington on Oct. 18. Police said he failed a series of field sobriety tests. Vitalis was held on a $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 30. 

Oct. 21

A male juvenile in Ellington was issued a juvenile summons in Rockville Superior Court after police responded to a disturbance between him and his grandmother on Oct. 21 around 2:15 a.m.



Michael S. Wasielak, 41, 57 Crystal Lake Road, Ellington, was charged with operating under the influence a failure to display plates and a failure to drive right after police pulled him over on East Road in Stafford on Oct. 21. Wasielak was held on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Nov. 12.

Oct. 22

State police and the Ellington Resident Trooper’s Office are investigating a report of an attempted burglary of a car at the Cornfield Apartments on Pinney Street I Ellington on Oct. 22. Anyone with information is asked to contact the State Trooper Jacob Bissaillon at 860-875-1522. 

Stafford

Oct. 18 


Marc R. Passmore, 40, 6 Pauline Court, Wallingford, was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree larceny after police said he was taken into custody in Meriden. Passmore was wanted in connection to an incident in Stafford on Racker Road. He was taken to the Troop C barracks in Tolland where he was held on a $50,000 bond. Passmore was due in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 18.

Mansfield

Oct. 17


State police are investigating the theft of a TV from a home in Mansfield.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 a resident at 80 Mansfield City Road lodged a complaint that someone came through his bedroom window and stole his Visio television and an iPod Nano. The complainant said the suspect then fled through the front door.

Police took a fingerprint from the windowsill. There are no witnesses and suspects at this time and the case is under investigation.



State police are investigating a burglary of a home at 102 Mansfield City Road in Mansfield on Oct. 17 where police said fore was used to gain entry. Numerous items were taken from inside the home. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Troop C barracks at 860-896-3222 ext. 8088.

Oct. 21

A home on East Road in Mansfield was burglarized on Oct. 21 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Police said numerous items were taken from inside the home. Anyone with information or who may have witnesses this should contact Trooper Woodward at 860-896-3222, ext. 8088.

Oct. 22

State police are investigating the theft of a motor scooter from a home on 2 Old Mill Court in Mansfield on Oct. 22 that occurred sometimes between 2:30 and 11:30 p.m. The scooter was taken from the driveway of the home. The case is under investigation.

Oct. 23


Erma Nina Coons, 49, 209 Mansfield City Road, Mansfield, was charged with two counts of second-degree failure to appear on Oct. 23 after she turned herself on Oct. 23. Coons was held on a $25,000 surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 24.

Tolland

Oct. 17

David Bovenzi, 74, 3950 1st Avenue North, St. Petersburg, Fla., was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor on Oct. 17 in connection to an incident on Feb. 5 on Anderson Road in Tolland. Bovenzi turned himself in to police after learning there was a warrant for his arrest. Bovenzi was held on a $50,000 bond is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 18.

Oct. 22

Mark T. Chambers, 52, 25 Virginia Lane, Tolland, was charged with interfering with an officer, a breach of peace and second-degree failure of appear on Oct. 22 after police said he was intoxicated in a public place on Merrow Road. Chambers was yelling in public and creating a scene, police said. Police later determined he was wanted for a failure to appear in court. He was held on a $2,500 bond and was scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 21.

Oct. 23

Jaeseong Bae, 22, 456 Tolland Turnpike, Willington, was charged with reckless driving and operating with a suspended license after police said he was traveling at a high rate of speed on I-84 west in Tolland on Oct. 23. He was held on a $500 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Nov. 4.



Steven J. Viera, 53, 43 Walbridge Hill Road, Tolland, was charged with speeding, operating under the influence and a failure to drive in the proper lane after police pulled him over on Oct. 23 on Doyle Road in Tolland. Viera failed a series of field sobriety tests, police said. He was held on a $500 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Nov. 5.

Somers

Oct. 17


Joshua E. Trowbridge, 29, 156 Main St., #3, Somers, was charged with possession of narcotics on Oct. 17 after police pulled him over on Maple Street in Somers. Trowbridge was held on a $2,500 non-surety bond and is due in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 30.

Vernon

Oct. 21


Mark David Fenton, 45, 539 Willow St., Scranton, Pa., was charged with operating under the influence turned himself in this past week after learning there was a warrant for his arrest. The charge stems from an incident on May 13, 2007 in Vernon. Fenton was held on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 21.

Oct. 22

Peter M. Pizzimenti, 35, 126 Rosehaven Road, Somers, was charged with reckless driving and operating with a suspended license after police clocked him going 97 mph on I-84 near Exit 65 in Vernon. Pizzimenti was held on a $2,500 bond and is due to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Nov.
