Police Investigating Car Break-ins at Somers High School Parking Lot

Police said backpacks containing electronics and jewelry were stolen.

State police are investigating a few car break-ins reported in the Somers High School parking lot.

On Jan. 17 around 7:30 p.m., someone entered "several unlocked vehicles" in the student parking lot at the high school, located at 49 9th District Road, according to a press release from the Troop C barracks in Tolland.

Several backpacks containing electronics and jewelry were taken during the incident, police said.

Police did not specify how many vehicles were broken into or how many items were stolen. The victims were all listed as 17-year-olds. 

School officials said they are aware of the break-ins and cooperating with the police in the investigation.
