Instead of putting out a fire, the Ellington Volunteer Fire Department was on hand to put a new weathervane in place.
Last year on June 29, the Ellington Volunteer Fire Department - and firefighters from many other departments - were at for a .
This year, the first responders were there to commemorate the anniversary. Instead of being used to put out a fire, the ladder truck was used to place a new weathervane on the building.
Employees and spectators watched as the weathervane was raised to the roof and worked into place. Once it was in place, a cheer went up from the crowd.
