Ellington-Somers Police Blotter: Sept. 30-Oct. 6

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police, are accurate as of Oct. 7, 2011. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

Sept. 30

On Sept. 28 at approximately 11 p.m., a vehicle believed to be a small extended cap pickup truck, possibly a light colored Ford Ranger, with an emblem or business marking on the rear tailgate entered private property and caused damage to the lawn area by spinning its tires repeatedly throughout several areas of the lawn. The property on Greene Road in Ellington is used by the . Anyone with information concerning the identity of those responsible is requested to contact Trooper Richardson at Troop C at 860-896-3200. 

Jeffrey A. Jablonowski, 32, of 65 Vernon Ave. in Vernon has been charged with first degree criminal trespass/violation of a protective order, and criminal violation of a protective order threatening or trespassing. Jablonowski was arrested on an arrest warrant issued from Rockville Superior Court for an incident on Farmstead Lane in Ellington. Jablonowski was processed and held on a court assigned $10,000 cash/surety bond pending his court date of Oct. 3.

While traveling northbound on Pinney Street, the operator of a motorcycle, a 63-year-old man from Rockville, lost control of his motorcycle on a bump in the roadway. There were no other vehicles involved. The man complained of pain to his ankle and was transported to Rockville General Hospital for minor injury. 

Oct. 1

Between 9 p.m. on Sept. 30 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 1, an attached garage at a residence on Somers Road in Ellington was entered and a 2000 KTM 125 SX motorcycle was stolen. The motorcycle is orange in color with an orange and black seat. Anyone with information regarding this incident is requested to contact the at 860-875-1522. 

Andrew Michael Conway, 23, of 118 Conklin Dr. in Stafford Springs, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. A 45-year-old Stafford Springs man was traveling westbound on Route 190, approximately two tenths of a mile east of Hurlburt Road, in Somers. Conway was traveling westbound on Route 190, approximately two tenths of a mile east of Hurburt Road, in Somers. Conway, while negotiating a curve in there roadway, entered into the opposing traffic and collided with the other vehicle and a metal beam guard rail located off the shoulder of the eastbound travel land prior to coming to a final rest position. The man reported minor injuries at the scene and was transported via to Johnson Memorial Hospital. Conway reported no injuries at the scene. Conway was subsequently taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and failure to drive right. Conway was held on a $500 non-surety bond.

Oct. 2

The vehicle of a California man was parked on the right shoulder of Route 190 in Somers in the area of No. 559 and was unoccupied. A 47-year-old East Longmeadow woman was traveling eastbound on Route 190 in the area when she veered over the white fog line and sideswiped the parked vehicle. No injuries and minor damage were reported. 

Oct. 5

A 17-year-old Somers woman was traveling eastbound on George Wood Road, approximately two tenths of a mile west of Polo View Drive, in Somers. While negotiating a curve in the roadway, she crossed over the opposing traffic lane, entering on the soft shoulder of the westbound travel land and collided with a utility pole. She reported no injuries at the scene and was reported to be wearing a safety belt at the time of the collision. She was issued a complaint ticket for traveling too fast for conditions. 

A 47-year-old Ellington man was traveling northbound on Old Springfield Road in Stafford when he lost control on the wet road on a curve and slid off the right shoulder, striking a tree. He reported no injuries. He was given an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions.

Oct. 6

A 42-year-old Stafford woman was traveling eastbound on Sandy Beach Road, approximately two tenths of a mile east of Buff Cap Road, in Ellington. She crossed over the opposing traffic lane and entered onto the soft shoulder of the westbound travel lane where she collided with a tree on the shoulder. She was transported via Life Star to Hartford Hospital for further evaluation of the injuries sustained as a result of the collision. The resulting causes of this vehicle collision are currently under investigation.

Allison S. Parker, 20, of 11 Jacobs Hill Rd. in Ellington, has been charged with operation of a motor vehicle by a minor having an elevated blood alcohol content. During an investigation of a motor vehicle accident, Parker was driving in the area of the accident scene. During a brief encounter with her, troopers detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath. She was then given a field sobriety test, and as a result, was placed under arrest for DUI and was brought to Troop C for processing.
