Ellington-Somers Police Blotter: Nov. 16-Nov. 20

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police, are accurate as of Nov. 21, 2012. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

Nov. 18

James H. Fisher, 23, of 36 Windermere Ave. in Ellington was stopped on Crystal Lake Road in Ellington for a motor vehicle violation. After failing field sobriety tests, Fisher was placed under arrest and was transported to Troop C for processing. He was charged with failure to obey a stop sign and driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol. 

Jennifer G. Singer, 41, of 250 Pinney St., Apt. C in Ellington was stopped in Stafford for motor vehicle violations. Subsequent investigation revealed that she was driving under the influence. Singer was arrested and processed without incident. She was charged with insurance coverage fails minimum requirements, traveling unreasonably fast/fast for conditions, operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol, and failure to have headlamps.

A 69-year-old Somers man was stopped at the stop sign on Field Road at the intersection of Route 83 in Somers, waiting for traffic. A 56-year-old Hartford man was driving northbound on Route 83 in a tractor trailer owned by New England Tractor Trailer Training School, and attempted to turn left onto Field Road. The rear driver’s side tire of the trailer portion of the vehicle struck the front driver’s side quarter panel and headlight area of the other vehicle. Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene. There were no reported injuries on the scene of the accident and the man driving the tractor trailer was found at fault for the accident.
