Ellington-Somers Police Blotter: Feb. 1-Feb. 7

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

Feb. 2

A 22-year-old Enfield woman was traveling northbound on Route 83, approximately two tenths of a mile south of Highland Avenue, in Ellington. The woman crossed over the opposing travel lane, entered onto the soft shoulder of the southbound travel lane, and collided into a utility pole with its front end prior to coming to a stopped position. The woman reported to have been wearing a safety belt leading up to the time of the collision. The woman was reported to have sustained very minor injuries as a result of this vehicle collision and was treated and released at the scene by Ellington Ambulance personnel. The woman was issued a complaint ticket for failure to drive right.

Feb. 4

Alec S. Labranche, 21, of 7 Olde Farms Rd. in Ellington, was taken into custody for an incident that occurred at his home. He was assigned a $1,000 surety bond by the duty supervisor. Labranche was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. He was subsequently held with a court date of Feb. 5 at Rockville Superior Court.

Feb. 6

A 14-year-old juvenile male was arrested on an active arrest warrant based upon investigation of an incident that occurred at Somers High School. He was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault.

Jermaine Jones, 26, of 273 Main St. in Willimantic, was transported from Northern Correctional Institution in Somers to Rockville Superior Court so that an active arrest warrant could be served. He was placed under arrest for assault on a public safety officer. Jones was processed and held on a $10,000 bond set by the court. He was then turned back over to the state marshals to be presented to the court. On Nov. 1, Troop C was contacted by Northern Correctional Institution and advised of an assault between an inmate and staff members at the prison. Jones spit in correctional officer's face.

Feb. 7

Jessie Almond Mote, 22, of 51 Meadow Brook Cir. Apt. 125 in Ellington, was arrested after investigation of the theft of money from an employee of Subway located at 70 Merrow Rd. in Tolland led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Mote. He voluntarily turned himself in at Troop C. Mote was charged with sixth-degree larceny.
