Times have changed.  Women are making a place for themselves in the business world.  In a recent study women-owned businesses performed just as well as men-owned businesses during the period 2007-2010, and in many cases outperformed their peers. There are different struggles that women-owned businesses face compared to their male counterparts with regard to business performance, revenue distribution and industry participation, stated in a recent study done by the National women's Business Council (NWBC).

Regardless of the challenges women face, this does not mean women are less successful than men, statistics show that women are starting businesses at more than twice the rate of their male counterpart.  The growing success rate of women entrepreneurs shows that women are resourceful, and able to succeed, despite the odds.
