LIVESTRONG

23 TEAMS RIDING FOR SURVIVORS

Ellington, CT—This Sunday, November 3, more
than 100 cyclists will be cycling hundreds of miles—in the Indian Valley Family
YMC lobby!  The Y is holding this Indoor
Cycle Event to benefit LIVESTRONG at
the Y.

The
Indian Valley Family YMCA runs LIVESTRONG
at the Y for cancer survivors and their families.

The
free, 12 week program meets twice a week for 90 minutes, using traditional
exercise methods to ease the cancer survivors back into fitness and to help
maintain a healthy weight. Just as important, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA encourages a warm spirit of community and a safe
comfortable place to build companionship with other survivors.

Medical
studies have shown that moderate levels of appropriate physical activity can
reduce fatigue, boost self-esteem and improve muscle strength and physical
endurance in individuals following cancer treatment. And cancer survivors
themselves are increasingly aware of the positive impact that moderate physical
activity, supportive relationships can have on their quality of life.

Since
2011, LIVESTRONG at the Indian
Valley Family YMCA has already helped hundreds of cancer survivors move beyond
cancer in spirit mind and body.

This Cycle-Fest is sponsored
by Scranton Motors of Vernon.
