Ellington Kids to Learn Life Lessons This Summer

The 1-2-3 I Am Me program teaches kids about making friends, teamwork, trust, bullying, dealing with their emotions, etc. through an array of exciting games and hands-on activities.

Starting soon, children in kindergarten through grade three will be able to participate in the 1-2-3 I Am Me program, offered by the .

1-2-3 I Am Me is a program that was originally created by Ellington native Kara Stauffer. Its purpose is to teach kids about making friends, teamwork, trust, bullying, dealing with their emotions, etc. through an array of exciting games and hands-on activities.

The program meets once a week for six weeks and the kids get a chance to meet other kids their age both in their school and in the other elementary schools in town.

This year, the facilitators are Nicole Squadrito and Kara Modzelewski. Squadrito graduated from Western New England College in 2007 with her teaching license and is currently going to grad school for School Psychology at the University of Hartford. Modzelewski will be entering her senior year at the University of Hartford in Early Elementary Education.
