Christmas Trees to be Picked up in Ellington

The collection will take place during the first two weeks of January.

Now that the holidays are over, many people are starting to disgard their Christmas trees.

In Ellington, trees will be picked up during the first two weeks of January. They must be left at the curb, butt-end out, and free of ornamentation and tree stands. If the trees are not cleaned, they will not be picked up.

The town is trying to follow the garbage pickup schedule as a guide, however it will be doing it for two weeks so if a resident misses it, the town will be back next week.

The Department of Public Works is also scouting the town to pick up any it sees, residents are encouraged to get their trees out as soon as possible.

Residents may also bring them to the town garage any time and leave them by the grey shed.

If a resident has any questions or concerns, they are asked to contact the Public Works Department at 860-870-3140.
