People want to know what will I do differently - here is just one example:

TOWN MEETINGS NEED TO BE MORE ACCESSIBLE:

I plan on making all Board of Selectman meetings more accessible and inviting to the public. This is critical to the people having their voices be heard in the town they live in.
• Regular meetings should continue to be held at 7:00 pm and planned a year in advance. However, Cancellations need to be kept to a minimum. (of the last 24 meetings, 9 were cancelled. )
• Special meetings will be held just prior to the regular meeting or another night at 6:30 p.m. and only when necessary or an emergency. (There have been 33 Special Meetings in the last 12 months - with 2/3 of them held before 5pm! 8:30am, 10am, 1pm, 3pm, etc when most working people could not attend - never mind that these Special meetings only need 24 hr notice so most of you would not even know they are being held. Fact: Bud Knor missed 15 of the 33 Special meetings)
• Add lighting in the front of the Town Hall with a spotlight on the sign showing meeting dates/times posted in advance.
• Use social media to post meeting times as well – especially for any unplanned special meetings to encourage the public to attend.
• Large signs posting hours of meetings on all Town Hall entrances
• Meetings to be held in the lower level main meeting hall to accommodate the public. with the area well lit.

In comparison - The Town of Ellington has only cancelled 1 of the regularly scheduled meetings over the last 12 months, and they have only held 4 Special Meetings - all of which were held after 6pm.
