Lucky Nails Catering to the Local Crowd

The salon opened at the end of August and is offering a wide variety of services to area residents.

At the end of August, Lucky Nails opened in one of the spaces in the Big Y plaza in Ellington and has been working on growing its clientele ever since.

Manager Amy Hoang said that this location is one of three, and that the owners thought the Ellington area was nice and that it would be a good place to open a new shop.

According to Hoang, the goal was to open in June, but the salon didn’t actually open until the end of August. Because of that, they had a few good weeks before Fall really kicked in and things slowed down. She said that September, October, and November are always the worst months every year.

In order to try to build its customer base, Hoang says that the salon tries to take are of good customers and create a good and relaxing environment where people can come get their nails done and enjoy their time there.

“We keep it clean and really welcoming,” she said.

Word of mouth is a big part of bringing in new customers and Lucky Nails even has a special where if you bring in a friend, you receive 50 percent off your services.

For services, the salon offers all kinds of manicures and pedicures, including Shellac nails and hot stone pedicures. Lucky Nails also does pedicures for children, with the children having their own special chairs.

According to Hoang, the adult pedicure chairs all have iPads on them so that people can do their work, play around on the internet, or relax – all while getting a pedicure.

The salon also does waxing, body massage, and is working on bringing in a technician to do facials. Lucky Nails works with the Nu Skin company, which offers a variety of products. It carries OPI and Creative nail polish colors.

While you are getting your nails done, you can also enjoy a beverage, including Organo Gold coffee or green tea – which are very healthy for you.

Have children? Not a problem. Bring them with you and they can play in the play area.
