"Cars are the Stars" Showcases Beautiful Cars and all for a Good Cause

It was a beautiful day to check out beautiful cars at the "Cars are the Stars" show, benefitting the Gene Pitney Scholarship.

The 8th annual "Cars are the Stars" car show to benefit the Gene Pitney Annual Scholarship Program was held on Saturday at the in Somers.

The show had a great turnout with hundreds of old fashion cars, new age cars, and spectators showing up for the event.

Admission for the spectators was free, however there was a $5 per car entry fee for the show cars.

The weather couldn't have been more beautiful for this event with lots of sun and warm temperatures.

Spectators enjoyed the hamburgers, hot dogs, and sausage and pepper sandwiches along with entertainment, a raffle, and other vendors.

There were 25 sponsors trophies awarded. 

This year, students from both Rockville High School and Somers High School were eligible for the Annual $1,000 Scholarship Award. The recipient from Somers was .
