Updated: Two Men Facing Assault Charges After Weekend Incident

The incident involved a firefighter from the Crystal Lake Fire Department, police said.

Two brothers from South Windsor are facing serious assault-related charges in Vernon and a firefighter from Ellington's Crystal Lake department was injured after an altercation that began late Friday and spilled into the early part of Saturday morning, police said.

The incident began at 11 p.m. on Friday, according to a police spokesman, and two men were taken into custody at 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, police said.

It was a road rage incident that spilled into an overflow parking lot at Connecticut Golf Land off Route 83, a police spokesman said.

The two men arrested were Derek and Tory Lussier, 22 and 23, respectively, of 52 Pine Knob Dr., South Windsor.

They were each charged with:

• Second-degree assault.

• Second-degree assault with a victim.

• Second-degree breach of peace.

A police spokesman said that two people were taken to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford after the incident. 

The investigation is considered open. The men on the other end of the fight were Francis and Bryan Sutton of Ellington. The family is active in the Crystal Lake Fire Department, authorities said. 

The Lussiers were each given a bond of $30,000, according to arrest reports. They posted and were given a Sept. 25 court date, police said.
