Kathy is a results oriented activist with a background in both the private and public sectors.  Her BFA and Xerox corporate experience combine for creative solutions to complex challenges.

Community volunteerism is also important to her life and for over 50 years Kathy has served the towns and states where she has lived; over 30 of those years were in elected or appointed office.   She is currently an active member of the Tolland Historical Society Board of Directors, serving as the curator of the Old Tolland County Jail & Museum, through which supplemental programs to the K-12 school curriculum are developed and provided, both in the classroom and in the local museums.  She recently was appointed to the Historic District Commission, accepted a position on a national board of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women, is a member of the local Republican Town Committee and is a member of the Congregational Church choir.  Kathy is a Justice of the Peace.

She and her husband are the fifth generation to live on the family farm at Leonard's Corner in Tolland.  It is here where they built his veterinary business in 1977, raised their children, and are currently preserving the endangered Dutch Belted breed of cattle.
