Jessica Ciparelli is a local girl – she attended Ellington Public Schools and graduated from EHS in 1996. Jessica earned her Bachelor's in Communications at Eastern Connecticut State University in 2000. She worked as a radio news reporter at WINY 1350 AM in Putnam, then chose to continue sharpening her writing skills as the first hired reporter at the ReminderNews in Vernon. She worked there for six years. Her coverage area mostly consisted of Ellington, Tolland, Vernon and South Windsor, which continues to help her understand the towns and the issues within those towns. Jessica moved into the nonprofit world, taking on the role of a communications specialist with the CT Early Childhood Alliance, a child advocacy organization. She continues to freelance for the ReminderNews, as well as for Patch.com.
Jessica enjoys spending time with family and friends, meeting new people and the newest craze -- ZUMBA!
