This congregation is a smaller, "family sized" church that is known for its many dinners. Dinners are held within the congregation and also for the community.

While the church is small and cozy, there are still many ways to be involved. The church tries to host intergenerational fellowship activities that all can participate in. 

At the church, there are 12 different missionary programs - four that are denominationally related, four that are locally focused, and four that have a national or international scope.

There are also music programs for youth and adults, youth programs, study groups, and child care during the service.

The Somers Cooperative Preschool is located in the back of the Somers Congregational Church. The school is notMore affiliated with the church, but simply rents space from it.

The school offers a cooperative program, meaning that the parents of the students are very much involved with the running of the school. They make up the board, as well as go into the classrooms and work alongside the teachers, and everyone has a job to do.

The curriculum consists of story time, instructional craft projects, free play, music and creative movement activities, nature and science exploration, field trips that expose the children to the world around them, and special visitors that come work with the children.

The Somers Cooperative Preschool operates from September to June and is open to children from any town. Classes are held on different days for different age groups. There are morning and afternoon sessions for each age group.
