This seems to be the new trend in a lot of stores. Why take your kids to the playground when you canRead More let them play in the store. You go to Ikea and the kids are jumping on the beds, running around the racks. Go grocery shopping and you have little children pushing little cars half filled with food items, racing down the aisle and around the corner, ramming the cart into the back of your legs and then have mom laugh. The parents think it's a hoot. Parents letting their children eat crackers and then leave the empty box on the shelf. Go to Home Depot and the children are climbing to the top of the much bags (it had to be 15 feet off the ground). Guess who's going to get sued if the little kiddies gets hurt? None of the stores want to say anything because they might lose a customer. Or worse someone will call the local news and give a one side rendition of what happened. That being said I really don't know what happened in this casr but it feels good to vent. Thanks for listening.

Thomas--no. The study has not been done yet, are you kidding? Obama lifted the ban on the study inRead More January of 2013 and all the articles I saw written on this so called study where the results backfired for gun controllers were from June or July of 2013. When have you ever known the government to get something started, completed and published in 5 months?!! And how would that be a comprehensive study if it only took 3 months to gather the information. This makes no sense. All the articles I saw written on these so called study results were from sites like "guns", "guns and ammo" and other right wing conservative websites. I couldn't find anything on the CDC website. Yet an article I read from 2014 talks about how the money hasn't even started flowing into congress yet for the study. You need to branch out of your little world of info man.

It said how Obama put forth his executive action in January 2013 and directed the CDC and other federal agencies to begin identifying the most pressing research problems in fire arm related violence and start identifying questions that would define a public health research agenda for fire arm violence prevention and intervention. They are talking about a 3-5 year research study. The information you were quoting is not new information. Again, I ask, how could this study have been done in 5 months time and be considered comprehensive? Those websites you follow are snowing you.

Hi everyone here. What Christine Coleman said is very true though i may not know her. I experiencedRead More it first hand also. It was this organization called consumer loan firm (C.L.f)that really helped me to pay my medical bills when i was in dare need of money because i am a widow. A friend of my also directed me to them. when i was about to do a major operation and i had no money at that time, they came to my rescue and in less than 48 hours, i got my loan. But to say the truth, i was nervous and scared at first because i have been scammed twice. But when i summoned up courage and follow their lending policies along with my friends advice, at the end i found myself smiling. If not for them, maybe i would have been dead by now. I have even taken another loan from them start my business after my recovery which i am also paying back now. My only advice now is that any body who is really in need of loan should contact them with their email via: consumerloanfirm@gmail.com and get a loan from them. Thanks
This guy deserves his bad reputation.

"Last Wednesday, Senate Republicans blocked -- for the third time -- the Paycheck Fairness Act,Read More a bill proposing to close the pay gap between men and women. The goal of the bill -- the attainment of equal pay for equal work -- seems like a no-brainer, right? Women with the same job, and same qualifications, as men deserve to be paid the same. They do not deserve to be discriminated against in salary on the basis of gender. Seems obvious. And yet not a single Republican voted in favor of the Act."
Judy Davidson July 23, 2014 at 10:02 pm
This is BS and political game playing. There are already multiple laws in place to ensure fair payRead More for women, minorities, etc. This is a stupid game, playing on people's emotions and not logic. There is very little in the way of a pay gap between men and women, except possibly at the CEO level, where there is probably not an equal representation of women. But that gets into cultural values, gender values. It is complicated. The surveys are a lie, because they combine many different job levels. I have designed, participated in and purchased many salary surveys over the course of 25 years. The good purchased surveys cost a lot of money, because they were carefully constructed, not just separated out on the basis of gender and combining all levels of jobs.
Bobbie July 23, 2014 at 11:10 pm
BS? Judy, you have to be kidding or ignorant. This is happening. And far more realistic thanRead More company promoted surveys. Totally self serving. Woman have for years been earning less than their male counterparts for years. "Francine Blau, an award winning labor economist at Cornell who has published widely on gender and the workplace: Way back in the 1950s, women earned around 60 percent on average of what men earned when working year-round full time. And it stayed right around at that level until about 1980. Then, particularly in the decade of the 80s, there was really considerable progress in narrowing the gender pay gap. Since then, there's been further progress, but it's been a little bit more fitful, a little less consistent. So in 1980, that figure was 60 percent. In 1990 it was 72 percent. In 10 years, that was quite a change. In 2000, it was 73 percent. And now it's about 77 percent. It bounces around year to year."

@Gus, counties don't actually mean anything in CT, just geographic borders. Bridgeport is as much ofRead More a money suck as any city in the state, and that's in FFC. There's plenty of affluent communities in New Haven, Hartford, Litchfield counties (and elsewhere) that pay their fair share. Paula, you'd actually have to show me where I am whining about what you say Im whining about. MyRead More view of the situation is that no one seems to be winning. And it is derived from a liberal point of view that borders are bad things. So we have kids in jails, mothers who no longer have their kids nearby, and border towns that are inundated and strapped for resources. What I see is the border town churches--the one's that are excoraiated for their 'hateful' attitudes the primary organizations that are doing their best to help these kids. People like yourself, I dont see actually helping, unless you think blogging is helpful? People who say they want their tax dollars to go there instead of to the Dept of Defense (me too by the way) but who cant comprehend that the taxpayers are the exact people you villify and the non-taxpayers are the one's you hail as iconic. When you tell me that you view occupy people as sponges and non-contributors to society instead of Exxon, we will be aligned. Do I think that Wal-mart benefits from our social welfare system--yep I do. But thats where unions should step in, not the government. because when government gets involved in anything, it messes things up. I have discussed, but not yet booked getting a ticket and spending a week on the border towns trying to help. I havent committed yet-because Im hoping somebody else joins me. Im not gonna tell you ive done something i havent, but I also dont think that im a better person if I repudiate others as you feel is being a good person. If you tell me you are right there in the trenches -bravo-if youre just anther liberal who makes their life's mission correcting the actions or non-actions of others, while not doing anything real--then who cares . Ive spent a good part of my life trying to help others. And each time I see liberals like yourself lecturing, and my experience is that the people who actually roll up their sleeves are republicans. So prove me wrong-but not fake prove me wrong. But my sense is you actually think you are a good person because you tell others to want to help.
