The Somers Cultural Commission has the purpose of promoting artistic and cultural programs and activities. It encourages development of and participation in activities, and also offers advice planning and coordinating events in town. The commission sponsors many activities throughout the year. 

The commission supports a scholarship, sponsors a concert series in the summer and also holds art and photography shows.

Meetings are held the second Monday of every month - except July and often December - at 7pm in Piedmont Hall and is open to the public. Many of the events held by the commission are held at Piedmont Hall.
