To update or not to update.... That is the question!
Is it worth making major renovations to your property in order to sell?? Read on to help you decide.
To update or not to update… that is the question! Sitting in your kitchen with your morning coffee looking around at your kitchen… thinking should we start to update this place to sell it.... My answer in this market is no. A major kitchen update can run anywhere from $20,000 and up. Having an amazingly beautifully updated kitchen can help you sell faster but is unlikely to bring you a major return on your investment. Unless your house looks like it did when it was built in 1972 I recommend taking the time to clean out any clutter, freshen up painted walls with neutral colors and do a very thorough cleaning. Remove personal items, clear the counters and get rid of all those refrigerator magnets!
Does this hold true for all housing styles and market places…. no of course not. Some small budget updates can make a world of difference in how buyers see your property. Be sure to consult with a local Broker who can guide you on what your competition looks like and what minor updates will help sell your place most successfully.
