Memorial Day Flowers Program

*** Memorial Day 2013 *** The American Legion Buck-Dubiel Post #101 – Somers & Somers Girl Scouts In participation with Colonial Flower Shoppe, Somers presents Memorial Day Flowers “Florists & Community” A Rose for the Headstone, Another Rose to Take Home in Memory Every Memorial Day, many in our community visit local cemeteries to pay respects to those who served in the United States Armed Forces. This Memorial Day, The Colonial Flower Shoppe in Somers, CT is participating in the nationwide Memorial Day Flowers program and will be giving out red roses at the shop to anyone who has lost a loved one or any veteran who stops in. Those who have lost a loved one will receive two roses, one to place on a headstone to honor that loved one who served and another to keep. The Somers American Legion and Somers Girl Scouts will be distributing flowers at the Farmer’s Market, adjacent to Kibbe Fuller School (intersection of Main & Battle Streets, Somers), Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, May 25, 26, 27, from 9AM – 2PM. The Legion will also be distributing Roses during their Poppies Drive, which supports disabled or wounded veterans from Somers, at the Geissler’s Supermarket, 95 South Road (Rt 83), Somers, on Sunday, May 26th, 2013, from 10AM – 5PM.
