Legionnaires from Post 101 Conduct Memorial Wreath Ceremonies

Legionnaires from American Legion Post 101 - Somers, CT conducted wreath ceremonies throughout Somers at each of the five veterans' memorials in town (Veterans' Memorial at Center Cemetery, Memorial Honor Roll, at Somers Historical Society, War Memorial at Town Hall, Veteran's Memorial honoring SP4 Roy C. Newsome, at Somers High School, Veterans' Memorial, in Somersville). Each ceremony consisted of placement of the wreath; invocation by the Post's Asst Chaplain, followed by Taps, played by Legionnaire Richard Szoka, with hand salute rendered by the participating Legionnaires. The wreaths were sponsored by local and area residents and organizations via Wreaths Across America (WAA).

Many other sponsored wreaths were placed onto the graves of Somers' veterans by Post 101 Legionnaires prior to the Christmas holiday.
