Top-Ranked Ellington-Somers Girls Advance In Class M Tennis

Knights move into quarterfinals with 5-2 win over Bristol Eastern.

Undefeated and top-ranked Ellington-Somers advanced to the quarterfinals of the Class M girls tennis tournament by defeating Bristol Eastern 5-2 Tuesday.

Hannah Riley, Kristine Gouin and Kat Sisco were victorious in singles matches, while the teams of Karli King/Allison Steinmetz and Hayley Babineau/Ashley Thomas prevailed in doubles.

"Riley was dominant in her match, winning 6-0, 6-0, while Gouin and Sisco were both very consistent in their victories," Knights coach Rich Willis said.  "The teams of King/Steinmetz and Babineau/Thomas played great doubles with strong play at the net in their wins."

Ellington-Somers (19-0) will host ninth-seeded RHAM (15-4) Wednesday at 3 p.m.
