On Tuesday, the Somers High School golf team defeated Stafford 177-194 in a match played at Elmcrest Country Club.
Nick Elia was the medalist for Somers with a 39. Matt Vecchiarelli shot a 43, Nate Stanton shot a 44, Cam Stanton shot a 51, and Kyle Trusch shot a 53.
For Stafford, Luke Hoss shot a 41, Chase Stuart shot a 45, Marc Richard and Trevor Simpson each shot a 54, and Andrew Lauzier shot a 55.
Somers travels to Enfield on Wednesday. Stafford hosts Ellington the same day.
