Somers Baseball Falls to Stafford

The Bulldogs scored eight runs in the sixth inning to secure the win.

On Monday afternoon, the Somers High School baseball team fell 12-9 to host Stafford.

Somers took a 9-4 lead into the sixth inning, but surrendered eight runs on a base hit, an error, seven walks, and two hit batters.

For Somers, Austin Ficara was 3-for-3 with three runs batted in, three runs scored, a walk, and five stolen bases.

Brian Hollister went 2-for-4 with a double and three runs batted in.

Tom Jacobsen got the win for Stafford and Tom Conlon took the loss for Somers.

Somers (6-1) will travel to Enfield on Wednesday. Stafford (6-3) travels to Canton the same day.
