Ellington Marine Competes in Boston Marathon

Greg Caron took part in the handcycle race on Monday.

Ellington's Greg Caron competed in the handcycle race of the Boston Marathon on Monday, completing the course in 1:58:49.

Caron's finish was good enough for eighth place. Ricardo Corral, Sr., from the Bronx, won the handcycle race in 1:35:38.

Caron, 26, lost both legs, a finger, took shrapnel to his body, and broke his collarbone in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in Afghanistan in November.
