Dowe said that this year could be and should be a lot of fun as the team has a good group of young men who know that its going to take a lot of hard work to ensure success this season.

“If we all get on the same page and do the little things then this year could be special,” Dowe said. “The players that we will look to the most is our upperclassmen and their is a lot of them and each are great in their own way.”

Tri-Town graduated a lot in the senior class last year and the two that standout are Mike Hanna and Steve Pernal.

“Mike put a ton of goals in the net for us last year and Steve was a staple on the blue line for us,” Dowe said. “The key to this season more so then any other I have coached is going to be hard work in every aspect of the game from forechecking to backchecking - we will need to do it all with a purpose to be successful.”

Dowe said that the main goal is to win the conference regular season and win a conference championship.

He is looking forward to the season.

“This year we have a great group of boys that work hard not only on the ice but in the classroom,” Dowe said. “Leadership is going to be the key to our success. If our leaders buy to our systems and cascade that down to the other boys, then we should be okay. Time will tell.”

Tri-Town will host Suffield-Granby-Windsor Locks at the Enfield Twin Rinks on Saturday at 5 p.m. For the full schedule, check out the CIAC Web site.
