State Tournament Set to Begin

Both the Ellington and Somers soccer teams will be participating in the tournament.

It's tournament time again and both the Ellington and Somers high school soccer teams will be vying for a state championship.

The boys' soccer tournament starts on Friday with the first round of games.

In Class M, No. 12 Ellington (10-4-1) will host No. 12 Joel Barlow (8-5-2) at 2 p.m.

In Class S, No. 4 Somers (13-3) has a first round bye. When the Spartans hit the field, they will play the winner of the No. 13 Canton (9-7) versus No. 20 Classical Magnet (7-7) game.

Somers will host the second round game on Monday at 2 p.m.

In girls' soccer, the tournament opens on Thursday with the first round of games.

In Class M, No. 16 Ellington (9-4-1) will host No. 17 East Catholic (10-5) at 2 p.m. on Thursday.

In Class S, No. 12 Somers (8-7) will host No. 21 East Granby (6-9) at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
