Spartans Advance in Class S State Tournament

The Somers High School boys' lacrosse team defeated Notre Dame-Fairfield on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the Somers High School boys' lacrosse team defeated Notre Dame-Fairfield 15-3 in the first round of the Class S State Tournament.

Ray McCarthy led the way with three goals and two assists. Tyler Russell had two goals and two assists, Cullen Roberts and Johnny Albert had two goals and an assist, and Ryan Lynch scored two goals. 

Alex Geas, Sean Tynan, Cody Roy, and Jason Kim all scored for the Spartans.

No. 11 Notre Dame-Fairfield finishes the season at 8-9. No. 6 Somers (13-4) plays at No. 3 Old Lyme (14-3) on Saturday in the quarterfinals.
