Somers Trounces Ellington

The Somers boys' lacrosse team remained perfect on the season with a 13-1 victory on Wednesday.

On Wednesday afternoon, the boys' lacrosse team defeated host 13-1. 

Somers sophomore Johnny Albert led all scorers with four goals. Cullen Roberts had two goals and two assists, and Sean Tynan added two goals.

Alex Geas, Jason Moustafa, Ray McCarthy, Ryan Lynch, and Eddie Hill also added goals for Somers. Geas also notched two assists and Moustafa one.

Lucas Horvath had the lone goal for the Knights.

Somers coach Ken McCarthy said that overall, he was pleased with the performance because the Spartans were able to meet the game plan objectives.

"Defensively, we contained their talented shooters and offensively we scored in transition, settled offense and on man up opportunities," he said. "Pat Tynan was also solid in goal for us making 12 saves."

The game was recorded and will be on TV on the CPTV Sports Channel. It will be broadcast on Saturday night at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m. on Cox channel 144 and Comcast 185.

Somers (3-0) will host Avon on Friday. Ellington (1-2) will host Canton the same day.
