Somers Student Awarded Cox Scholarship

Somers High School senior Andrew Morse is the recent recipient of a Cox Communications' Scholarship, the Hartford Courant reports.

The scholarship program was established to "promote continuing education among high school seniors pursuing careers in communications, telecommunications, technology or engineering fields," according to the Cox Web site.

To receive the award, Morse met the following criteria, per Cox's requirements:

  • Academic excellence;
  • Community involvement;
  • Desire to pursue a degree in communication, telecommunications, and technology or engineering fields; and
  • Living in or attending school in a Cox service town in Connecticut and/or Rhode Island.
