Somers Softball Wins Again

The Spartans improved to 14-2 on the season, which is good enough for a first-place tie in Class S.

The softball team defeated visiting Enfield 11-6 on Thursday.

JoJo Meunier pitched five innings, allowing one earned run, two hits and one walk. She struck out 12 Raiders. Samantha Urbon pitched the last two innings and had five strikeouts.

For Somers, Allison Dubanoski, Kylen O'Hearn and Danielle Chokas all doubled.  Dubanoski had three RBI and Chokas had two RBI.

Somers scored all of its runs in the first three innings and was held scoreless for the rest of the game. 

The losing pitcher for Enfield was Kristen Serafin who had five strikeouts.

Katie Levesseur doubled three times and had the only hits for Enfield. 

Somers (14-2) hosts Suffield on Wednesday. Enfield (3-12) hosts Ellington on Monday.
