Somers Shuts Down East Windsor

The Panthers couldn't get much going against the host Spartans.

The baseball team shut down visiting East Windsor 21-2 on Monday.

Tom Conlon picked up his first varsity win for the Spartans. Conlon pitched four innings, allowing only two hits and one run. He walked three and struck out two.

Kevin Briggs took the loss for East Windsor.

All Somers starters had hits - there were 19 in the game - and Mike Casciano and Nate Czelazewicz continued to swing hot bats for the Spartans.

Casciano had four hits and drove in three runs and Czelazewicz had two hits and drove in four runs. Zack Kertenis and Kevin Roberts each had three hits and drove in three.

For East Windsor, Bryan Perron and Dylon Costa each had a hit and a run scored.

Somers (4-2) hosts Lyman Memorial on Friday. East Windsor (0-6) hosts SMSA on Wednesday.
