Somers Resident Honored at Western New England University

Brewster Knowlton received the Male Scholar Athlete of the Year Award.

Brewster T. Knowlton, of Somers, received the Male Scholar Athlete of the Year Award during Baccalaureate ceremonies at Western New England University. The award is given to a graduating senior who exemplifies outstanding citizenship and character, excellence in athletics, and excellence in academics.

Knowlton graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science. He is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma honor society, served as a math tutor in the Math Center, and has been recognized in the Commonwealth Coast Conference All Academic Team since 2010. In addition, Knowlton's successful lacrosse career was recognized in the CCC All-Conference Team for three years and the USILA 2011 All America Team. He also was named Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2011 and ECAC New England Goalie of the Year in 2011.
