Somers Dominates SMSA

The Spartans snapped a three-game losing streak with the victory.

The baseball team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 21-0 victory over host SMSA on Monday.

Adam Donovan picked up the win for Somers in his first varsity start. Donovan pitched seven innings, allowing three hits and one walk. He struck out 12. He allowed only one runner to reach third base the whole game.

Nate Czelazewicz had four hits and two runs batted in for the Spartans. Ryan Connor and Tom Conlon each had three three hits four runs batted in, and Austin Ficara and Kyle Sullivan each had three hits and one run batted in.

Somers had 21 hits in the game. The Spartans committed one error while SMSA committed 10.

Somers (5-5) hosts Coventry on Wednesday. SMSA (1-10) travels to Canton the same day.
