Somers Closes Out the Season With Victory Over Coventry

The Spartans broke the game open in the second quarter and never looked back.

The girls' basketball picked up another win on Tuesday as it closed out the regular season with a 50-22 victory over visiting Coventry. 

Diandra DaRosa led all scorers with 16 points. Kelsey Charette added 11 points in the victory.

Five other Spartans got on the board with at least four points each.

Claire Hall led the way for Coventry with 11 points.

Somers led 13-7 after the first quarter, but then outscored the Patriots 22-5 to take a 35-12 lead into the break.

Somers (9-11) and Coventry (10-10) will now both wait to see who they will play in the Class S state tournament.
