The Ellington High School girls basketball team defeated host Windsor Locks on Friday night to improve to 13-3 on the season.

The girls basketball team was able to hold off host Windsor Locks 60-51 on Friday night.

Ellington coach Lauren Lovetere-Beeler said that the Knightswe could never put the game away for good.

"We got up 12, 14, 15 a couple of times and then they would get it back down to eight or so," she said.

With 2:34 left in the game, Windsor Locks got it down to six with a three by Jessica Kuzmicka but then Ellington put it away with solid free throws from Kelly Conley and Savannah Kresge.

Ellington went 13-of-17 from the line in the fourth quarter.

Conley had 24 points for Ellington and Julie Gage added 14 points and 13 rebounds. Kresge added 10 points in the win.

Mariah Brown led Windsor Locks with 23 points and Ellary Douglas added 10.

Ellington (13-3) travels to Rockville on Tuesday. Windsor Locks (11-7) travels to Coventry on Tuesday.
