Somers resident and senior Hannah Fasano stars in three sports, is very involved, and also excels in the classroom.
Fasano plays varsity soccer, squash and lacrosse. In squash, she finished seventh in the New England Prep School Division as a five seed.
In lacrosse, she was elected captain by her teammates as a junior and has scored over 100 goals and has notched 45 assists in three varsity seasons.
She is also an All-New England Prep School all-star selection and an offensive player of the year.
Fasano has been selected as a World Scholar Athlete-to compete in World Games this summer and plays summer lacrosse on the national level for CTLF (CT Lacrosse Futures).
She is also currently being recruited by several Division I, II and III schools.
In the classroom, Fasano is an honor student and was elected to the Big 7, which is Ethel Walker's student governing body. She is also in the Cicerone Society, which means that she is a student ambassador and guide for incoming parents and students.
Fasano is also the prom committee head, a Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund volunteer member and supporter.
In July, she will be participating as an invited youth in the World Youth Peace Summit with Desmond Tutu. In her spare time, Fasano will volunteer at CT Children's Medical Center in the pediatric Oncology unit this summer.
Fasano also volunteers at the Paul Bowers lacrosse tournament in Somers, and volunteers with the Somers youth lacrosse teams, helping the younger kids with drills and skills.
At the end of June, she is playing in the World Scholar-Athlete games, which are part of the World Youth Peace Summit. The games will be played at the University of Hartford.
More about Hannah Fasano
1. When did you start playing lacrosse? What got you started?
I started playing in third grade. I started because I was bored during the spring.
2. What is your favorite lacrosse moment?
I have two. One of my favorite lacrosse moments was beating our school's rival Miss Porters last year because it was a really close game for the whole game until we finally scored three goals to bring home the win. Or getting my first e-mails from Division I college coaches this past fall.
3. What do you do to get ready for a game?
Before a game I take a nap then eat peanut M&M's and listen to techno music and Lil Wayne really loud before I go to the locker room for the game talk.
4. Do you play any other sports?
I play varsity soccer and varsity squash.
5. What are some of your hobbies when you're not playing lacrosse?
I read a lot and I love Harry Potter. And I like to go to the beach and hang out with my friends.
