Ellington Volleyball Loses Tough One to Granby

It came down to the wire for the Knights and Bears on Friday.

The Ellington High School volleyball team lost a tough 3-2 match against visiting Granby.

Granby won the first game 25-21, Ellington won the next two 25-23 and 25-21, Granby won the fourth game 25-20 and the fifth game 15-9.

For Ellington, Janna Grinaski had five kills, three aces, and two blocks. Rachel Tshonas had five blocks, three kills, and two aces. Sam Salwa added nine assists and an ace for the Knights.

For Granby, Casey Hunt had 15 kills and eight aces, Lauren Holt had 18 kills and two blocks, and Megan Nilson had 18 assists. 

Ellington (2-5) will travel to Avon on Monday. Granby (5-2) will travel to SMSA the same day.
